At Putzmeister Academy, our thoughtfully designed training programs are focused on the customers getting the maximum value out of their Putzmeister equipment.
An integral part of this is first-hand knowledge of the challenges our customers will face whether they’re building a skyscraper or an underwater tunnel. No one has more experience across a wider range of geographies, projects and working conditions than Putzmeister. And customers don’t just get to learn how to best use Putzmeister equipment, but also how it can best help their specific project in specific conditions. These tried and tested approaches combined with practical experience gathered from the day-to-day working across our comprehensive range of products make our training sessions a treasure trove of valuable information for both owners and operators on the field.
These courses focus on different areas of the machine including safety, proper set up, operations, maintenance, emergency use procedures, and diagnostic trouble shooting. They are directed towards both new and experienced equipment operators and technicians. Classes are balanced with both classroom theory and practical hands-on application in a shop and outdoor environment. About Alan:
I was introduced to the concrete pumping industry in January of 1986, when I walked into the Pump Rental company asking “How do concrete pumps work?”, I was immediately hired and I started by cleaning hardened concrete out of a pump. From there I grew exponentially from line pumps to the longest boom produced at the time, a 52 Meter.
During my 12 years with this pump company I had various responsibilities ranging from managing job sites and the maintenance shop, to repairing and maintaining concrete pumps and other equipment.
I received an opportunity to take my end user experience of pumping and servicing to the Factory in May of 1998, when I accepted a position of Field Service Technician for Putzmeister America.
Over the next 20+ years I have traveled all over the world fixing and teaching the equipment that Putzmeister produces.
My passion is teaching. I love to share past experiences from the “real” world of pumping concrete to customers while adding the factory manufacturer perspective. During the last 10 years I have spent a lot of time in the factory classroom and in the field at various customer’s service facilities teaching operation, safety, and mechanical function.

About Nick:
I have always had a interest in Heavy Equipment from when I was a small child. Growing up I was able to operate and work on all kinds of equipment from Farm Machinery to Construction Equipment.
After attending college and receiving my Engineering degree, the job market for engineers was limited and I was able to find a position with a local hydraulic company where I was responsible for repairing hydraulic pumps and valves as well as field service repairs on mobile equipment. After 3 years with this company I received the opportunity to come on board with Putzmeister and join the Customer Support Group.
Since joining Putzmeister in 2006 I have been in the CSG group, answering the phone in the technical support center, traveling to customers to provide new machine start ups, along with performing repairs on all types of equipment. I have had experience with the Shotcrete and Underground Tunneling and Mining aspects of the industry. My most recent role has been to join Alan Woods in the training area. I enjoy explaining the technical aspects of our equipment.
